MULTI-TALENTED artist Thabit Abdul is working on his new film 'True Secret' to be released later this year.
In an interview with THISDAY yesterday, Abdul, a key member of Jahazi Modern Taarab group, said the movie is about various challenges couples usually come across.
He said his decision to release the film stems from the fact that he wants to enlighten the public on various issues pertaining to love affairs.
Abdul, best known to his fans as 'Mtoto wa Ilala,' had a stint with Twanga Pepeta International band before joining Jahazi.
In the 'True Secret' film, he has featured a host of seasoned actors and actresses, including Charles Mageri, Mwanaidi Suka aka Mainda, Mashaka Steven, Flora Mvungi and James Temu.
“As of now, we're putting final touches on the film. If all goes well, we'll release it next month,” he said.
He attributed his decision to feature famed cast members in the movie to the fact that he wants it to hit the market with a bang.
“Most people know me as a singer, but I also have what it takes to excel in acting as those who have seen me in action can attest,” he said confidently, adding that the film will be in DVD and VCD.
