DAR ES SALAAM'S New Msasani Club management has resorted to modeling stakeholders and well-wishers for support to help it stage Miss Tourism Eastern Zone 2009/2010 beauty contest.
Event coordinator Sophia Temba said yesterday that they need more than 80m/- to make the event a success.
“We at New Msasani Club have vast experience in organising major entertainment events, but we know that we must work hard to make the event of the Miss Tourism Eastern Zone magnitude a success,” she said.
Sophia appealed to the business community for financial support, saying they could not afford to raise the money on their own.
This comes only days after the board of director of Miss Tourism Tanzania organising committee named the club as the event's organisers.
Early this week, the committee, led by Gideon Chipungahelo, named the Dar es Salaam club as one of its agents.
The event set for February next year, will involve 30 beauties five regions -- Morogoro, Lindi, Mtwara, Coast Region and hosts Dar es Salaam.
Sophia said they will use the pageant to aggressively campaign for the country's tourism sector.
She said Tanzania was a country of diversity with enormous tourist resources, ranging from wildlife to the unique picturesque landscape.
“It goes without saying that the diverse culture coupled with hospitable people make our country a truly unequaled tourist attraction,” she said.
