THE Alliance Francaise in Dar es Salaam will tonight be the centre of attraction as it hosts a special fashion show featuring seasoned fashion designer Mustafa Hassanali.
Creations made out of left over fabrics and haberdashery ranging from Khanga Kitenge, Bazein and Satins are among dresses that will be on display in today's event, according to Hassanali.
In an interview with THISDAY in the city yesterday, the designer said the exhibition was aimed at reminding people on the importance of preserving environments.
Being environment conscious, Mustafa Hassanali has been selected as a Climate Change Icon by the British Council in Tanzania for his role in creating an Initiative for a Better, Cleaner and Neater Future for Tanzanian through art, fashion and designing.
His commitment is to not only to promote the creative sector industry, especially fashion in Tanzania , but also emphasise the 'Made in Tanzania Concept'.
The exhibition is part of his tenth anniversary celebration since his first crowning outfit designed for Miss Tanzania 1999, Hoyce Temu.
Hassanali said preparations for today's show were in place. The eagerly awaited show starts at 7.00pm.
